Blogging Balochistan
Saturday, 22 January 2005

Here is an article supposedly from Pakistani think tank at The South Asia Tribune. When i read this for the first time, my first reaction was; 'HOLY SH'T" . It is so full of rubbish that i had to read it again to belive it.

I am giving the link here.

Let me summarize it for you.

The root of all evil this time is: guess it, no, its not America the Satan, nah, it isn't even India, it is BRITAIN.

This is supposed to be a 'A Larger Strategic View of the Balochistan Scenarios'. God help such Paki think tanks.

Top Ten Demands Made By Balochi Nationalists
'The Top Ten' is a regular column in the prestigious The Friday Times of Pakistan. I owe more to the writers at TFT than to most of my university teachers.

Ayeda Naqvi wrote on 21st January:

Top Ten Demands
Made By Balochi Nationalists

By Ayeda

10. Move national capital to Gwadar
9. Zafarullah Jamali to be PM again
8. Sajji to be made national dish
7. Nawab Bugti to be President for Life
6. Ban on all languages except Balochi
5. Five lakhs reward for each honour killing
4. Death penalty for killing houbara bustards
3. Death penalty for educating women
2. Death penalty for using Sui gas
1. Death penalty for the Benjamin Sisters

She can normally write humourous peices, but at times she also produces bongers like these. I have been reading her for at least for a few years. She used to be funny, but i don't know why she needed to chose this lane.

Which Baloch has ever heard of the Benjamin Sisters? :D

I am watching Pakistan TV right now, and this Ahmadan Bugti is on the tv, saying Nawab Bugti is evil, army cantonments are good, Russia is paying Baloch to harm Pakistan, this guy has done great developmental works, BLA is there to terrorize people, AlQaeda people from Wana/ Wazirstan are hiding in Balochistan, and so on.

Good going.

UPDATE: 24th Jan

Here is the link to what Mir Ahmadan Bugti said.

Spreading out the fight
Today, there were bombs and rockets attacks in Gawadar, and Naushki.

I think this is a real good policy to let pakistan know that it won't be only Sui, where they will have to fight.

We also just proved that we are living in stone age.

The operation has already started!!
No, I am not talking about the military operation in Sui, that everybody is expecting.

It is the new operation of character assassination of Baloch, Baloch leaders, and our motives.

The Paki 'intellectuals', as if on cue, have started going at it full-throttle. Check these;

A.Q. Hassan in Daily Jang:
Sardars wants a piece in the loot of Gawadar. All this is just for that.

Nazeer Naji in Daily Jang :
Baloch are being recruited for anti-Pakistan purposes. This is a way to put pressure on Musharraf. Baloch are being used by FOREIGN Influences.

He says that in the event, the Sardars are losing their grip on Baloch polity. (He makes it sound like a bad thing)

Gen. Hameed Gul :
It is all from those consulates in Afghanistan (India, Israel, and USA). TO HARM THE ISLAMIC WORLD.

A News piece :
Nawab Bugti gets Rs. 70,000,000 a year from the gas company. He got all the say in employments. So probably, all this is because he wants more??

So, Baloch fight because either a sardar, or a foreign country told them to do so.
Great.
When will these 'intellectuals' start seeing us capable of acting on our own?

Do we really need any military operations, when they have got such tongues?

One million dollar a day

This is how much the Paki gas company (BBC Urdu Link) is losing daily because of the disruption from sui fields.

WOW!! I didn't know they were earning that much.

Please forgive us, we didn't say it
There is political party in Balochistan, called BNP (Awami). It is an offshoot of Sardar Mengal's BNP. Its speciality is that it only consists of crooks. You won't find even a single respectable person in this party. It is a partner in the Balochistan government now.

Few days back, its leader Mohim Khan said , that the party will quit the government if an army operation is launched in Balochistan.

Today, M. Ali Rind, and Ehsan Shah (of the same party) said (Urdu link) that they do not have any such plans. Mohim Khan can go, scr'w himself. They are not going to leave their ministerial posts, just becuase a few Baloch are killed. Why shouldn't they be able to make a few more million?

Go on guys. At least, you are being honest.

Hamid Mir's Article
Here is today's editorial column, in daily jang, written by Mr. Hamid Mir.

Usually, i do not beleive this guy. he conisders himself too important, and 'in', but got to give him some credit for his journalistic abilities.

let me present a summary of the article above.

A baloch student came to meet Mr. Mir. He was trained at Afghanistan, and Thailand. To do what???? TO HELP CREATE A FREE BALOCHISTAN. He had a book with him, which predicted that Balochistan will be free in 2006, will be a major oil/ gas producer, etc. HOW? enemies of Pakistan will ensure that.

BUT, and this was a really huge but, the guy was told to forego his relogion, Islam. He was instructed not to pray.

NOW, what in the world , can that mean? Baloch are anti-islam? A free Balochistan will in anyway make us lesser muslims??? who in the world can conclude such a thing, but a Pakistani intellectual? He even uses the words like, "pakistan aur Islam ke Dushmin". These are one and the same???

At Shool, and College, we were told that if you speak against Pakistan, it means you speak against Islam. That might seem ridiculious to some, but that is exacty how the Pakistani nationalism has been established.

We were always confused, how can that be possible? If i want a free country, that will diminsh my religion? HOW? WHY?

Anybody got any answers? Please help a confused Baloch.

Bangladesh massacres didn't happen!!!
Hey, a Col. Sikandar Baloch (R) has found out part 2 that there were no massacres in Bangladesh. It is all a lie to discredit the brave, the valiant, the gallant, and the herculean Paki army.

All of us are fools, this guy knows best.

The CIA Report
I guess you must have read a thing or two about the new CIA report Mapping the Global Future.

It says: "Pakistan will be more fractious, isolated, and dependent on international financial assistance"

and

"Pakistan in 2015. Pakistan, our conferees concluded, will not recover easily from decades of political and economic mismanagement, divisive politics, lawlessness, corruption and ethnic friction. Nascent democratic reforms will produce little change in the face of opposition from an entrenched political elite and radical Islamic parties. Further domestic decline would benefit Islamic political activists, who may significantly increase their role in national politics and alter the makeup and cohesion of the military--once Pakistan's most capable institution. In a climate of continuing domestic turmoil, the central government's control probably will be reduced to the Punjabi heartland and the economic hub of Karachi."

Baloch are forced to live under such a country???? Pakistan is fast becoming like Arafat. Everyone knew that he was almost dead, but he lingered on. It's the same case here.

Pakistan will die soon, but will hurt a lot of people while doing so. Lets get out before the roof collapses.

Latest:

The rapist army guy has given himself up, and says he isn't guilty. It took him ten days to do that?????

If you hate Balochistan, or want to, Read Bashir Kakar's article( in Urdu).

Earlier, i wrote that nothing happened in Balochistan today. It seems our guys managed to fire a few rounds of rockets on paramilitary forces, and as usual, nobody died.

Can we really fight?
Things seem to be calm today in Sui, and everywhere else in Balochistan. God knows why. Probably, it is the calm that will bring in the storms. This might be the time, that intelligence agencies try to move in, before the military assualt. I am having second thoughts about the military operation in balochistan, but, i was thinking, can we right handle the coming storm? I mean can we really fight? for how long? with what affect?

I am all for a grand fight. But, is Bugti prepared? will Marri hold his ego, and be able to play a secondary role? can Mengal rein in his compromising, and greedy nature? will the stooges like Dr. Malik, Dr. Hayee, etc, for once, stop being stooges? Does the baloch student still has 'it' in him?

I think a very siginficant role will be played by Mazaris. They are with the government, but will they actually become the Northern Alliance for Paki army?
This elder (not the sardar)of mazari tribe announced a ceasefire. That, isn't bad.
Update: Sherbaz mazari's son has also declared a ceasefire with Bugtis. Sherbaz's brother , Balakh Sher Mazari, is the mazari tribal cheif, and he is a real stooge. lets see if he can also go for a ceasefire, and show some solidarity with fellow Baloch.

We wait to see.

You got to watch this guy. He is the interior minister of Balochistan in Pakistan. must be around 25-32 yrs old. got his minsterial jobs, because his father is a absolute crook. is known to brag, and speak his mind without much thought. Once, resigned for a night to blackmail the chief minster. Now, that the things are getting hot in Balochistan, watch to see which way he blows.
